Oregon defense end DeForest Buckner of Waianae added to his postseason honors with the 36th Morris Trophy as the Pac-12’s top defensive lineman, the conference announced today.

Buckner, a 6-foot-7, 300-pound senior who graduated from Punahou, made 76 tackles (6.3 per game) this season. They included 16 tackles for a loss with 9.5 sacks.

Earlier, Buckner was awarded the Pat Tillman Award as the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year. He is also a finalist for the Ted Hendricks Award as the nation’s top defensive end.

At Oregon, Buckner played in all 53 games during his career, including the last 35 as a starter.

Buckner and Stanford offensive guard Joshua Garnett, the top offensive lineman in the Pac-12, will be honored at the Washington Athletic Club in Seattle Jan. 14.
