1 killed, 3 injured in shooting at downtown L.A. hotel
LOS ANGELES » One person was killed and three others injured in a shooting early this morning at a popular hotel in downtown Los Angeles, police said.
The shooting occurred about 2:20 a.m. at the Standard Hotel, said Rosario Herrera, a spokeswoman for the LAPD.
The unidentified victim died at a hospital.
The Los Angeles Fire Department transported at least two people to a hospital, according to Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott.
No arrests have been made.
A couple staying at the hotel said they woke up to the sound of loud popping noises.

The man, who did not want his last name used out of fear for his safety, said he looked out the window but didn’t see anything.
“It sounded like heavy machinery falling,” he said.
About 30 seconds later, he said, they heard about five or six gunshots that sounded farther away.
“Then there were sirens,” he said.
He said they learned about the shooting later Sunday morning.
Hotel employees said at least two of the victims were found by the elevators, behind the front door of the lobby. One of the lobby’s glass doors was shattered.
An employee, who did not want to be identified because he was not allowed to speak to media, said a parking attendant found a handgun about 9 a.m. Sunday in a parking lot nearby.
