Sunny weather, light winds expected for Sunday’s Honolulu Marathon
Expect sunny skies and light winds for Sunday’s Honolulu Marathon.
The breezy tradewinds of the last few days are gone for now.
The National Weather Service expects winds to turn southeasterly late in the morning.
Highs will be between 77 and 88 degrees.
The weather Sunday is likely to be very similar to today’s weather, forecasters said.
There’s a chance of afternoon showers along the south shore of Oahu because of daytime heating.

Despite the lack of easterly tradewinds over most Hawaiian islands, a high surf advisory for east-facing shores of the Big Island is in effect until 6 p.m. Sunday. Wave of 6 to 8 feet are expected.
Forecasters say a weather system moving over the islands has cut off the tradewinds and could bring an increased chance of afternoon and overnight showers until tradewinds return by the middle of next week.

I ‘ll try not to wash my car this weekend so that it will remain sunny for the race.
