The incident occurred at 6:15 p.m.

Lifeguards save surfer at Pipe
Lifeguards pulled an unconscious surfer from the ocean at Banzai Pipeline on Sunday and were able to revive him.
The surfer was seen catching a wave at about 11:45 a.m. but didn’t resurface, an email from city Emergency Services Department said.
Lifeguards from Ehukai Beach responded and found the man, 22, in the hands of a bodysurfer. They swam him to shore where he eventually regained consciousness, the city said.
A Emergency Medical Services crew took the man in critical condition to a trauma center.
