Suspect is charged in Makaha assault
A 37-year-old man was charged with shooting another man who had reported he was wounded in the neck by his father with a BB gun Tuesday in Makaha.
Conrado Asuncion Sr. of Makaha was charged Thursday with first-degree terroristic threatening and third-degree assault. He was released after posting $25,000 bail.
Police said a 19-year-old was passing by Asuncion’s home about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday when Asuncion allegedly used a dangerous instrument to injure the teen, who was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police arrested Asuncion at his Lahaina Street home the following day about 6:40 p.m.
Police radio communications said the teen reported he was injured when his father shot him in the neck with a .22-caliber BB gun.
Paramedics treated the teen near Farrington Highway and Jade Street and took him to the Queen’s Medical Center in stable condition.
