Kalihi man arrested for allegedly assaulting ambulance crew
A 32-year-old Kalihi man is in custody after he allegedly assaulted two paramedics early Sunday morning who had responded to a 911 call.
The suspect was taken to Queen’s Medical Center around 1:20 a.m. when the suspect allegedly assaulted the emergency medical technician in the back of the ambulance.
Another paramedic, who got out from the front of the ambulance and went to the aid of his colleague, was also was attacked.
The two paramedics were unable to continue working and the ambulance was taken out of service until the next shift reported to work at noon.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of two counts of second-degree assault.
