The University of Hawaii women’s golf team shot a final-round 290 on Thursday to finish second at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational at Leilehua Golf Course.
The Rainbow Wahine finished at 22-over-par 886, which was 23 strokes behind BYU.
Hawaii’s Raquel Ek shot a 1-under 71 to finish fourth at 215 and Eimi Koga carded a 73 to place sixth at 219.
BYU’s Rose Huang, an ‘Iolani graduate, took medalist honors with a 211.
Hawaii Hilo finished last in the 14-team tournament at 986.
HPU women picked fourth in basketball
The Hawaii Pacific women’s basketball team was picked to finish fourth in the Pacific West Conference preseason coaches poll, announced Thursday.
California Baptist (191 points) was picked to win the 14-team conference.
HPU finished with 150 points, while Brigham Young-Hawaii (108) was tied for sixth, Hawaii Hilo (75) came in 10th and Chaminade (57) was 12th.
Hawaii Hilo men win in double overtime
Scott Hill scored in double overtime off an assist from Cristian Ruelas as the Hawaii Hilo men’s soccer team beat Holy Names 3-2 on Thursday in Hilo.
Hill’s goal came at 1:08:18 off a direct kick.
Jamie Sporcic (50:31) and Ruelas (55:14) also scored for the Vulcans (4-9, 3-5 PacWest). The Hawks dropped to 2-10-1, 1-6-1.

Reynolds lifts Seasider women to win
Natalie Reynolds scored on a penalty kick in overtime as Brigham Young-Hawaii defeated Dominican (Calif.) 2-1 on Thursday at BYUH field.
Reynolds scored at 95:14 after Ansley Wagner was tackled in the box.
Natalie Lewis (44:54) also scored for the Seasiders (5-6-2, 4-3-1 PacWest). The Penguins fell to 4-9-1, 4-5.

Vulcans swept by Azusa Pacific
Morgan Lees had 13 kills and Marley Strand-Nicolaisen added 10, but Hawaii Hilo fell to Azusa Pacific 25-19, 25-20, 25-21 on Thursday in Hilo.
The Cougars improved to 10-9, 6-4 PacWest, while the Vulcans dropped to 7-6, 5-5.
