A 33-year-old Aiea man was arrested today after he assaulted two police officers in the Ala Moana area, police said. 

The officers were responding to a report of an argument about 3 a.m. and found the suspect arguing with another person, police said. 

One officer was speaking to the suspect when he suddenly assaults him and the second officer, who tried to help. 

Police subdued the man at Ala Moana Center and arrested him for investigation of two counts of first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest. 

Both officers sustained minor injuries and were treated at the hospital and released.
