The upcoming, upscale International Market Place in Waikiki has announced another Michelin-starred restaurant joining its lineup of restaurants: Yauatcha, a dim sum teahouse that offers a modern interpretation of the traditional Chinese teahouse. Along with premium teas, Yauatcha is known for its patisserie, including handmade petit gateaux, macarons and chocolate.
The market place, scheduled to reopen in August, has already announced a lineup of food venues to include Michael Mina’s StripSteak and The Street, Eating House 1849 by Roy Yamaguchi, Flour & Barley, Goma Tei and Kona Grill.
A ‘Cutthroat’ celebration
Michael Young, executive chef of Sheraton Kauai Resort, will be featured on an episode of “Cutthroat Kitchen” to air Sunday on the Food Network.
To celebrate, RumFire Poipu Beach will hold a viewing party at 7 p.m.; the show airs at 8 p.m. A $10 cover charge will include pupu inspired by the show. Net proceeds will benefit the restaurant’s ongoing Table 53 fundraiser, which in December assists high school athletic programs on Kauai.
