Pomai Recca put down 16 kills to lead the Hawaii Pacific women’s volleyball team to a 24-26, 25-23, 25-22, 25-14 PacWest volleyball win over Notre Dame De Namur on Friday night in Belmont, Calif.
Kayla Demari added 14 kills and Lea Felton 13 for the Sharks (13-10, 8-7 PacWest), who snapped a four-match losing streak. Amanda Moriarty had 28 digs and Recca completed the double-double with 18 against the Argonauts (10-16, 6-11).
Oklahoma leading Ka’anapali golf
No. 13 Oklahoma had a three-stroke lead going into Saturday’s second round of the Ka’anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational at the Royal Ka’anapali Course on Maui.
The Sooners carded an 8-under 276, with No. 35 North Carolina State three shots back at 279 and host Hawaii at 282 in the 19-team men’s tournament.
Oklahoma’s Rylee Reinertson and Long Beach State’s Jonny Hogan were tied for the lead at 6-under 65. The Sooners’ Brad Dalke was a shot back at 66, with Rainbow Warriors junior James Horton, a Lahainaluna High product, in a four-way tie for fourth at 67.
Hawaii B was in 19th at 301. The tournament continues through Sunday.
