A 24-year-old Mililani man was charged with manslaughter Sunday in connection with a homicide investigation at a shopping center in Mililani.
Kai Winchester was being held at the main police station in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Police said Martin Luippold, 59, of Mililani was found unresponsive in a parking lot at Gateway at Mililani Mauka shopping center on Meheula Parkway at about 10:30 p.m. Oct 4. He was taken in critical condition to a hospital where he died.
Police arrested Winchester at his Alapoai Street home Friday, a day after asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects or witnesses to the incident.
Palolo man charged in Manoa burglary
A 26-year-old Palolo man was charged Saturday in connection with a violent burglary in Manoa.
Brian Alexander Walton Jr. was charged with first-degree burglary and was being held in lieu of $11,000 bail.
Police said Walton broke into a home and assaulted the 28-year-old man who lives there at about 10:05 p.m. Friday. Officers arrested Walton at the scene on Maile Way, on the Ewa side of University Avenue, at about 10:30 p.m.
Police charge man in Tantalus robbery
A 22-year-old man was charged and a second man was in custody over the weekend in connection with the gunpoint robbery of a 19-year-old man at Tantalus last week.
Manny Delos-Santos, of no local address, was charged with first-degree robbery, and his bail was set at $50,000.
A 20-year-old Makiki man was arrested Friday for investigation of first-degree robbery, and charges were pending.
Police said Delos-Santos and three other men drove up to a group of people parked at a lookout point at about 12:30 a.m. Oct. 4.
Two men got out of the vehicle and demanded money. One said he had a gun wrapped in a towel and threatened to shoot the teen if he didn’t comply, police said.
The same suspect then demanded the keys to a moped belonging to the teen and fled on the moped.
The other suspects left in the vehicle.
Police received a tip that led to the arrest of Delos-Santos in Waikiki on Thursday and arrested the second man at his home Friday.
