The whole post-Connector era has dawned. It’s time to cross fingers and hope the worst is in the rear-view mirror.
The Hawaii Health Connector, the state health insurance exchange that’s under the federal microscope these days, was found to be noncompliant.
The Ige administration is moving to make sure the state fixes its system problems and continues to get its Medicaid funding, leaning on the federal health insurance exchange instead of the Connector.
The latest outlay of funds for the accounting and consulting firm KPMG LLP amounts to $26 million — without going through a bidding process. That’s a lot of money for a sole-source contract, but in a world where some $200 million already has been largely wasted on the Connector, it’s all relative.
Dare we hope for UH football? Yes, we do
Can we believe again?
The University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors football team has won two out of three games so far — and even the loss to top-ranked Ohio State beat the point spread.
UH handled UC Davis in convincing fashion on Saturday, 47-27, and beat Colorado two weeks before that, 28-20. Now the team takes to the road to face two tough challenges — Wisconsin and Boise State — before returning for the homecoming game on Oct. 10 against San Diego State.
The Colorado game drew 19,511 to Halawa; the UC Davis game drew 22,738. If the team is doing better, surely we can, too. See you at Aloha Stadium. Go Bows!
