Man, 35, charged in burglary attempt
Prosecutors charged a 35-year-old Salt Lake man Monday who allegedly poured what appeared to be gasoline into a Waikiki home and “threatened to burn the place down,” police said.
Tarik McMillan was charged with first-degree burglary and promoting a detrimental drug. His bail was set at $30,000.
Police said McMillan followed a 36-year-old man home Sunday and allegedly pushed a gasoline container into the window, then poured the liquid inside and made the threat to burn the home.
Police patrol officers found the suspect nearby on Kalakaua Avenue and arrested him on suspicion of first-degree burglary, a Class B felony. Police later found illegal drugs on him.
