Hitchcock & Set Design: ‘Foreign Correspondent’

Alfred Hitchcock’s second project in America required the work of 14 scriptwriters over the course of five years to adapt war correspondent Vincent Sheehan’s “Personal History” and humorist Robert Benchley to write and finish the script. The story finds an American journalist covering the war scene in Europe in 1938-40 when he witnesses the assassination of a Dutch diplomat. (1940, 1:58)
