High surf advisory issued for east-facing shores
Forecasters issued a high surf advisory for the east-facing shores of all islands this morning.
The advisory will go into effect at 6 a.m. and is scheduled to run through 6 p.m. this evening. Officials at the National Weather Service expect surf of up to 6 to 8 feet.
Beachgoers should anticipate strong breaking waves and currents and are advised to use caution when entering the water.
