A 56-year-old Aiea woman was hospitalized in critical condition with head and internal injuries after she was hit by a car Monday while crossing Waialae Avenue in Kaimuki.
Police said the pedestrian was in a marked crosswalk near Center Street when she was struck by a car driven by a 62-year-old man just before 7 p.m.
The driver was not injured.
2 soldiers arrested after Wahiawa robbery
Two 20-year-old Schofield Barracks soldiers are in police custody after allegedly robbing a Wahiawa store at gunpoint just before 10 p.m. Sunday.
Both were arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
Purse-snatcher is sought in Hilo incident
Hawaii island police are looking for a purse-snatcher following an incident in Hilo on Tuesday morning.
Officers said they responded to a call to the 200 block of Kamehameha Avenue at 6:02 a.m. when a woman, 47, who had been sleeping in the doorway of a business, said a man kicked her and fled with her purse.
The thief is described as a man in his late 20s or possibly early 30s, about 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds. Police said he was wearing dark shorts and a black jacket.
