Thomas Sorensen, left, and his wife, Michele Henry Sorensen, welcomed Marguerite Carroll, her daughter-in-law, Kathy Toister, and her son, Robert Toister, to a surprise party celebrating Carroll’s 100th birthday Thursday Sept. 24 at Cupola Theatre in the Honolulu Design Center. A crowd of about 50 well-wishers joined them in enjoying a “This Is Your Life, Marguerite!” video, an hors d’oeuvres-and-dessert buffet and the music of a guitar-and-violin duo.
