Maui police have arrested and charged a 36-year-old man, with no local address, in connection with the stabbing of a 45-year-old woman at her Paia home. 

Officers responding to a report of abuse of a household member shortly before 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at the residence on Hana Highway found the woman, who reported her boyfriend had stabbed her multiple times after an argument. 

Medics transported the woman in non-life-threatening condition to Maui Memorial Medical Center. 

Police arrested Keola Vasconcellos shortly before 9:30 a.m. and charged him with one count of second-degree assault and one count of abuse of a family or household member. His bail was set at $6,000.
