Roy’s to take over Ola space at Turtle Bay
World-renowned chef and restaurateur Roy Yamaguchi will open Roy’s Beach House restaurant at Oahu’s Turtle Bay Resort in the second quarter of 2016.
The restaurant will succeed the current Ola at Turtle Bay, established by Fred DeAngelo, who recently took over operation of Heeia Pier General Store & Deli.
Neither resort officials nor Yamaguchi would discuss the deal during Star-Advertiser queries in June, and DeAngelo deferred comment to Yamaguchi.
“Roy’s Beach House will be a magnificent new offering to our resort experience,” said said Danna Holck, vice president and general manager of the resort, in a news release.
The restaurant’s concept and design work are underway, the release said.
“A warm mahalo goes to Chef Fred and Cheryl DeAngelo and the wonderful team at Ola for the many years of delicious cuisine, superb service and relaxing ambiance they have provided,” Holck continued.
