The No. 4-ranked Kahuku Red Raiders (6-0 OIA Red Conference) rolled up 417 yards — all on the ground — in demolishing the Marauders, 63-0, in Waipahu’s home finale and homecoming game.
Coach Vavae Tata didn’t make a single pass call as his team dominated the trenches. Harmon Brown (184 yards) had three of Kahuku’s seven rushing touchdowns, while Ted Kenese added two. Keala Santiago and Hirkley Latu had pick-6s to complete the lopsided scoring.
Kahuku was without leading rusher Sefa Ameperosa, who suffered a sprain in practice this week.
"Next man up, and (Brown) did a phenomenal job," Tata said.
Quarterback Kesi Ah-Hoy sprained a foot on a run in the second quarter and limped off. Ah-Hoy finished with 72 yards and a score.
Kahuku remained on a collision course with Waianae next week at Aloha Stadium for the top seed out of the Red.
