The city Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the 51-year-old Waianae man who died Tuesday in a moped accident in Kapolei as David Rodrigues.
Police said Rodrigues was traveling east on Farrington Highway at 5:38 a.m. when his moped hit a curb near the Kapolei Golf Course.
This was the fourth major moped accident since Sunday. It was Oahu’s 38th traffic death, compared with 46 at the same time last year.
Schofield soldiers charged in robbery
Two 20-year-old Schofield Barracks soldiers made their initial Honolulu District Court appearances Wednesday on charges they robbed a Wahiawa store at gunpoint Sunday.
Brandon Harter and Caleb Edie are each charged with first-degree robbery. Their preliminary hearing is set for Friday in District Court.
Bail was set at $50,000. Both remain in custody.

Accused killer due in court on Garden Isle
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for today in Lihue District Court for a 37-year-old Kauai man accused of assaulting his girlfriend and killing another man early Saturday morning.
Francisco Manuel of Lihue was arrested Saturday and later charged with second-degree murder in the death of Hallas Allianic Jr., 38, of Lihue. Manuel also is charged with second-degree assault for allegedly recklessly causing substantial injury to Jasmine Duque, his girlfriend.
Manuel is being held at the Lihue police cellblock in lieu of $1 million bail.
Allianic’s body was found early Saturday morning in a parking lot near the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall. Allianic died of injuries sustained in an assault, Kauai police said.
No foul play in man’s death, official declares
Foul play has been ruled out in the death of a man whose body was found floating in Hilo Bay on Sept. 24, the Hawaii County medical examiner has determined.
Police said Wednesday that the medical examiner conducted an autopsy Tuesday and determined the man died from asphyxia due to drowning.
Detectives are still trying to find out the identity of the man.
The man was found floating facedown shortly after 8 p.m. Sept. 24 about 15 feet from shore at the 100 block of Banyan Drive.
