A 26-year-old man fell to his death Wednesday while installing solar panels at a McCully building, police said.
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as James Failing.
An autopsy determined Failing died of blunt force injuries to the head as a result of the fall, which was found to be accidental, the Medical Examiner’s Office said.
Police said Failing was installing solar panels when he fell. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
There were no signs of foul play, police said.
Motorist who died after crash is ID’d
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office on Thursday identified the 73-year-old man who was fatally injured Wednesday after crashing his vehicle into a tree in Kapolei as Victor Lima of Kapolei.
Lima was trying to pass another vehicle on Kapolei Parkway at about 2 p.m. Wednesday when his vehicle clipped the mirror of the other vehicle, swerved and hit the curb of the median. His vehicle continued on and crashed into a tree in the median, pinning Lima inside.
The crash occurred near Kinoiki Street.
Lima was taken in critical condition by ambulance to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the other vehicle, a man in his 60s, was not injured in the accident.
Suspect arrested in Waikiki break-in
Police arrested a 26-year-old man with no local address who allegedly entered a Waikiki apartment Sept. 17 and remained there until the resident awoke.
Police said the man entered the home and unlawfully stayed there until 9 a.m. When the resident awoke and confronted the man, the suspect fled.
Police said there were signs the suspect had searched the apartment, and some property was missing.
Police later identified the suspect and arrested him Thursday morning on suspicion of first-degree burglary.
Homeless man held in stabbing freed
Police said Thursday they have released a 52-year-old homeless man pending investigation into the alleged stabbing of another man in Kalihi last month.
The suspect was arrested Monday on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder in an incident that police said occurred Aug. 8.
