UH soccer team bests BYUH 2-0
The Hawaii soccer team wrapped up nonconference play with a 2-0 defeat of Brigham Young-Hawaii tonight at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.
UH (3-6-1) got goals from sophomore midfielder Dani Crawford and senior defender Lidia Battaglia. Crawford’s 14th-minute goal on a Storm Kenui corner kick was her team-best third of the season. For Battaglia, her put-in of a T.J. Reyno corner in the 81st minute was the first score of her four-year career.
The Wahine completed their second shutout of the season by goalkeeper Monk Berger from a two-game absence due to a concussion.
UH plays an exhibition against the Rainbow Wahine alumnae at 5 p.m. Sunday then opens Big West play at home next week.
