Hawaii Pacific’s cross country teams swept the men’s and women’s races at Saturday’s UH Hilo Invitational.
Allison Carone won the women’s 5-kilometer race in 19 minutes, 42.7 seconds. Marissa Kunsch placed third in 20:10.8 and Meghan Fairchild was fourth in 20:16.7 as HPU took the team title with 23 points. Brigham Young-Hawaii was second with 32.
In the men’s 5K, Jacob Alplund won in 16:29.0 in his HPU debut. Dylan Evans, Ricky Oschner, Brandon Schafer and Clay Kotwitz finished third through seventh as HPU took the team title with 19 points. BYUH was second with 45.
