Pensacola Street reopens, water restored to high rise condos
Board of Water Supply crews fixed teh road and pipe and restored service to two high-rise buildings that had been without water since a valve on an 8-inch main broke Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Waimanu and Pensacola streets.
The break was reported at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Crews installed a new valve restored water service by about 10:30 p.m., but were continuing to work on the pipe and the road overnight.
Traffic was diverted off Pensacola Street and the left turn lane of Waimalu Street was closed until the repairs were completed by about 6:15 a.m.
