Honolulu police arrested and cited a 19-year-old man for allegedly punching his mother and choking a 17-year-old girl Saturday morning in Makaha. 

Police said a 42-year-old woman reported that her son punched her in the left temple and knocked her out during an argument at about 9:15 a.m. Saturday. 

A 17-year-old girl, who witnessed the incident told officers that the man also choked her. 

Officers initially arrested the suspect on suspicion of attempted strangulation in an abuse of a family member. But the charges were reduced to two charges of misdemeanor abuse. Bail was set at $4,000.
