M.E.: Man found in Nuuanu Stream drowned

Honolulu police recovered the body of a man from Nuuanu Stream this morning.

The Medical Examiner’s office has identified the 60 year-old Mililani man whose body was recovered from Nuuanu Stream earlier this month as Joseph Patrick Silva.

Honolulu firefighters recovered the body  from Nuuanu Stream the morning of Aug. 8 near Nimitz highway and River street.

The Medical Examiner’s office said Silva drowned.

The body was retrieved at 8:10 a.m. from the stream beneath the bridge at Nimitz and King streets.
