Japanese visitor, 76, nearly drowns at Hanauma Bay
A 76-year-old Japanese visitor nearly drowned Sunday morning in Hanauma Bay, Emergency Medical Services said.
The man was taken to an area hospital in critical condition just before 10:30 a.m.
EMS said City lifeguards performed CPR on the man and regained a pulse before paramedics arrived.
Paramedics took over treatment and transferred the man, EMS said.
EMS said the circumstances that led up to the event are currently unknown.
