Suspect arrested in stabbing is released
Police have released a 22-year-old Kalihi man who was arrested following a fight in a Keeaumoku Street-area bar.
Police continue to investigate the fight between two groups of men at 1:20 a.m. Sunday that resulted in one man being stabbed in the leg.
This was the fourth stabbing in the area since March. No one has been charged in fights and stabbings that occurred March 15, March 31 and May 4.
In the latest incident, the victim’s friends took him to the hospital, police said. The other group of men fled the scene, but police arrested a 22-year-old man near Piikoi and Young streets about an hour later on suspicion of second-degree assault.
Man, 57, nearly drowns at hotel pool
A 57-year-old man is in critical condition after nearly drowning Monday morning in a pool at Hilton Hawaiian Village, Emergency Medical Services personnel reported.
The incident was reported about 10:30 a.m., and the man was taken to the hospital.
No further information was available.
