Police arrested one man and another man went to the hospital with stab wounds after a fight at a bar in the Keeaumoku Street area early Sunday, according to police and Emergency Medical Services reports.
Two groups of men got into a fight at an unidentified bar at 1:20 a.m. that resulted in the victim being stabbed in the leg with a knife, police said.
The victim’s friends took him to the hospital, police said. The other group of men fled the scene, but police arrested a 22-year-old Kalihi man near Piikoi and Young streets about an hour later on suspicion of second-degree assault.
Paramedics responded at 1:50 a.m. to Keeaumoku Street near Kona Street on a report of a stabbing, but the victim had already left the scene.
Police have been investigating a number of early-morning violent incidents in the Keeaumoku Street area since March.
» A 26-year-old man was stabbed near Like Like Drive-Inn on Keeaumoku Street at about 3:30 a.m. May 4.
» Police arrested a 21-year-old Kalihi man and charged him with assault after he allegedly stabbed a 22-year-old man during a brawl involving about 20 people March 31, just after 7 a.m. on Sheridan Street.
» Police are also investigating a March 15 fight in which two men were stabbed in front of the Keeaumoku McDonald’s in a fight involving two groups of young people.
» On March 3 police arrested an Ewa Beach man in a baseball bat assault and stabbing on Makaloa Street near Walgreens on Keeaumoku Street at about 5:30 a.m. But police released the suspect after the victims declined to press charges.
