Arizona Cardinals cheerleader accused of assault
PHOENIX >> Authorities say a cheerleader for the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals who served in the Army in Iraq is accused of assaulting her boyfriend.
Scottsdale police say 29-year-old Megan Welter was arrested July 20 on charges of disorderly conduct, alleged assault and criminal damage.
Welter told police she and her boyfriend went to a Scottsdale bar to celebrate her birthday. The couple had been dating for six months.
Welter says the couple later argued over past relationships. A police report says Welter hit, scratched and pulled the hair of her unidentified boyfriend.
KPHO-TV (http://bit.ly/1eeLQPX) reports that the boyfriend recorded some of the incident on his cell phone.
Authorities didn’t immediately know Thursday if Welter has an attorney.
