Man arrested at Hilo airport with four pounds of marijuana in carry-on bag
Hawaii island police said a Puna man was arrested at Hilo International Airport last week with eight pounds of marijuana in his carry-on bag.
Police said the man, 39, of Mountain View was arrested on Friday at 6:30 a.m. on suspicion of first-degree attempted commercial promotion of marijuana and possessing drug paraphernalia.
Police said they recovered a duffle bag with four 2-pound bags of marijuana in the airport terminal, where the suspect was waiting for his flight.
He was taken to the Hilo police cellblock, and released at 8:10 a.m. pending further investigation.
