Stolen car recovered; pair arrested
A defaced safety check decal led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle Monday in the Ward area, Honolulu police said.
A police sergeant in the area noticed the safety check decal and pulled the car over, according to police.
Police determined the car was stolen and arrested the driver, a 27-year-old man, on suspicion of driving a stolen car.
His passenger, a 13-year-old girl, was also arrested on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.
Man tries selling a van that is not his own
A 51-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly tried to sell a stolen van to a Kalihi metal recycling business.
Police made the arrest Monday when the suspect couldn’t produce ownership papers.
After checking, police found out that the vehicle had been stolen last month.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.
Teens arrested in robbery of woman
Police arrested two female teenagers in an early morning robbery in Makiki on Tuesday morning.
Police said a 14-year-old girl and an 18-year-old woman approached a 56-year-old woman and allegedly assaulted her before taking the victim’s property.
Officers found the suspects and arrested them Tuesday on suspicion of robbery.
Police did not give an exact location or time of the reported crime.
