Flood advisory for Oahu is canceled
The National Weather Service has canceled a flood advisory for Oahu after heavy rains soaked the Koolau Mountains.
Earlier, at about 8 p.m., rain gauges in southeast Oahu showed rain falling at almost 2 inches per hour, the agency said.
At 7:15 p.m., gauges at Nuuanu and the Lyon Arboretum showed rain falling at over an inch per hour.
Other spots with heavy rainfall included Honolulu, Kaneohe, Kailua, Pearl City, Wahiawa, Mililani, Kaaawa and Laie.
The advisory, which was originally in effect until 9:30 p.m., was extended until 10:15 p.m., then canceled ahead of time.
A weather system west of Oahu is producing the wet weather.
