State approves new 400-foot Ward Avenue condo tower
The Hawaii Community Development Authority voted 6-0 today to approve the building of a 400-foot condominium tower at 404 Ward Ave., where the Dixie Grill used to be.
The state agency in charge of development in Kakaako approved the plans that include the building being 120 feet from the neighboring building, instead of the 300 feet required under HCDA rules.
The tower will be built by Howard Hughes Corp. and have 424 units.
This is to be the first of 22 towers Howard Hughes Corp. plans to build on 60 acres it owns in Kakaako.
