Kaiser wants to see your photos
In yet another foray into the brave new world of telemedicine, Kaiser Permanente Hawaii has announced a new feature on its KP.org website, allowing patients to send digital images of their problems to their physicians to enable quicker information sharing.
Patients also can digitally send PDF docs to their docs, such as work forms that require a physician’s signature.
Now that’s convenience.
Digital photos could aid in quicker looks and management of sudden conditions such as rashes, wounds or other injuries. But for the sake of its staffers, Kaiser had better draw the line at patients sending in those annoying foodie shots shared in so many selfies.
Hawaii doing well as fashion hub
This week is nail-biting time for the Hawaii boosters waiting for next week’s finale of "Project Runway."
Kapolei’s own Kini Zamora is the designer who’s built a reputation for speedy but meticulously constructed fashions during the TV competition’s current season. Thursday’s episode showcased the preparations of the final four for exhibiting their collections during New York’s Fashion Week.
Of course, Fashion Week happened in September so the results are known by the privileged few. The rest will have to wait for Thursday.
Zamora is the second Hawaii resident to make it this far in the reality-TV competition, the first being designer Ari South, who competed at the time as Andy South.
This suggests that one Hawaii industry that could enhance its brand — and the manufacturing sector as a result — is fashion design.
