Toddler hospitalized after near-drowning

A 1-year-old boy was in serious condition Saturday after nearly drowning in a pool.

Family members pulled the boy out of the water at the Makaha Surfside condominiums about 2:10 p.m., an Emergency Medical Services supervisor said.

Paramedics took him to Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children.

Crash into tree critically injures teen driver

A 16-year-old girl was in critical condition Saturday after crashing a vehicle into a tree in Aiea, paramedics said.

The crash happened about 1:50 p.m. on Hapaki Street, police said.

No additional information was available.
