Armed robber holds up Longs Drugs
Police are looking for a gunman wearing a mask who robbed a Kaimuki drugstore Thursday morning.
Police said the man wore a black cloth covering the lower half of his face when he entered the Longs Drugs at 3221 Waialae Ave. He then approached two employees and pointed a black handgun at them, demanding money. The man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
The man is described as 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 130 to 140 pounds.
Police officer arrested in sex assault
A 35-year-old police officer was arrested Wednesday morning on suspicion of third-degree sex assault, police said. No information was released about the officer except to say that he has been with the department for six years and is assigned to the Wahiawa district.
The officer was released, pending further investigation, after his arrest at the Beretania Street police station. The department took away his police powers, and he is assigned to desk duty pending the investigation, police said.
Man injured in drive-by BB gun shooting
A man was shot in the chest apparently with a BB gun at a Kailua sports bar Thursday night.
Emergency Medical Services said paramedics treated a man in his 50s or 60s for an apparent gunshot wound to the upper part of his chest.
He was taken in serious condition to a hospital after the 7 p.m. shooting at The Shack.
The Shack manager said the victim was a customer seated in the patio area when someone driving by on Hele Street fired a BB gun.
