Rainbow Wahine golfers tied for 10th
The University of Hawaii women’s golf team continued to struggle at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic on Tuesday at the Bay Course in Kapalua, Maui. The Rainbow Wahine are tied for 10th place with UC Riverside, with an overall score of 38-over-par 616.
UH’s Raquel Ek posted a 72 to tie for 21st place on the individual leaderboard, while the Rainbow Wahine finished the second round with a team score of 298.
UC Davis leads the field of 15 with a 1-over-par 577, trailed by Texas (582) and Oregon (585).
Vulcans golfer on top at SoCal
Hawaii Hilo golfer Dalen Yamauchi finished at 1 under par to finish in a first-place tie Tuesday at the 65th Annual SoCal Intercollegiate in Santee, Calif. The Vulcans finished in fourth place with a team score of 45 over par.
Yamauchi scored a 71 in the third round and finished with an overall score of 2-over-par 218, tied with Cal State East Bay’s Adam Stone.
BYU-Hawaii golfers finish ninth
The BYU-Hawaii men’s golf team placed ninth at the CBU Invitational in Corona, Calif., on Tuesday. Alex Stulce led the Seasiders at 1 under par to tie for third.
Simon Fraser University won the invitational with a score of 6 over par, while the Seasiders finished at 43 over par.
Urban Knights sweep Chaminade softball
The Chaminade women’s softball team struggled at the plate in a doubleheader loss to Academy of Art, 4-2 and 8-0 on Tuesday in Brisbane, Calif.
The Silverswords (7-23, 6-14 PacWest) were held to just five hits in two games, while the Urban Knights (14-17, 9-9 PacWest) racked up 22.
Jenn Betian and Amber Manuel scored Chaminade’s only runs with solo homers in the first game.
Wahine basketball banquet on April 12
The Hawaii women’s basketball team hosts its annual banquet on April 12 at the Ala Moana Hotel’s Hibiscus Ballroom.
Registration is at 11:30 a.m. with a buffet luncheon to follow at noon.
Tickets are $65 for the public, $55 for booster club members and $29 for children ages 4-11. Fans also can sponsor a player for $55 or purchase a table of eight, which will include two players and/or coaches, for $700.
All proceeds from the banquet will go toward the team’s summer school fund. The deadline for RSVPs and payments is April 3. The Wahine won the Big West regular-season championship but lost the conference-tournament title game.

Rainbow basketball banquet is April 29
The University of Hawaii men’s basketball team will hold its postseason awards banquet at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel on April 29.
No-host cocktails begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Maui and Kauai rooms, with the dinner and program to follow at 6:30.
Individual tickets are $150. Tables begin at $1,500. Sign-up forms are available at hawaiiathletics.com and should be returned by April 22.
The Rainbow Warriors went 22-13 and reached the Big West tournament championship game.
