Police are investigating a car fire that damaged a building at the Puunui Community Park early Monday morning.

The incident was reported 1:37 a.m. and fire, which destroyed the car, also caused minor damage to the park’s recreation center on Puunui avenue. It was brought under control by 2:01 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation since the car was found away from the parking lot and the road and parked close to the recreation building.

The owner told fire officials that the car had not been stolen.

No injuries were reported.
