2 hikers rescued safely from Olomana trail
Firefighters rescued two lost hikers safely from the Olomana Trail Saturday morning after the hikers spent overnight on the mountain.
Two women, one in her 30s and the other in her 40s, headed out to the trail around 5 p.m. Friday night and got lost on the trail, said Honolulu Fire spokesman Capt. James Todd.
Firefighters received the call around 10:15 p.m. and searched the area briefly but suspended the search for the following morning, Todd said.
At 5:31 a.m. Saturday, firefighters resumed the search for the women and located them at 7:17 a.m.
The women were airlifted out of the trail, Todd said.
No injuries were reported.
