Third-ranked Kamehameha secured a 6-6 softball tie with No. 6 Maryknoll on Dallas Millwood’s clutch solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning at Kamehameha on Wednesday.
Tamia Hirano cranked a three-run homer in the top of the sixth inning to put the Spartans ahead 6-5 and give the visitors their second lead of the game.
The hurlers for both squads racked up the strikeouts as Maryknoll’s (2-1-1) Shearyna Labasan fanned nine batters and Kamehameha’s (3-0-1) Kamalani Dung sat down eight. Both pitchers went the distance in the rare no-decision outcome.
