UH Hilo golfers within striking distance
Hawaii Hilo golfers Dalen Yamauchi and Ric Yamamoto both carded 4-over-par 148s and share second place through the first two rounds of the Dennis Rose Invitational on Friday at the Waikoloa Kings’ Courses.
Jordan Lamb of Wilmington (Del.) is one stroke ahead of the Vulcan duo at 3 over. The final round is scheduled for Saturday. Lamb posted a tournament-low 1-under 71 in his second round of the day to take sole possession of first place.
Yamauchi shot par through his first round and concluded his day with a 4 over, while Yamamoto posted identical scores of 74 in both rounds.
Host Hawaii Hilo leads the team competition after posting a two-round total of 614, while St. Edward’s (617), Wilmington (619), CSU-Stanislaus (621) and Western Washington (624) follow.
