Cooking fire destroys Manoa house
A cooking fire that swept through the second floor of a Manoa house destroyed the structure Wednesday, fire officials said.
Firefighters responded about 5:15 p.m. to the two-alarm fire on Woolsey Place in Manoa.
A man walked away from cooking on a second-floor stove, and when he returned, he found the area by the stove on fire, fire officials said.
The fire spread through the second floor, and when firefighters arrived, they reported the top floor was fully engulfed in flames.
The man was treated by paramedics for facial burns but declined transport to a hospital.
Four people live in the home, and the American Red Cross will be assisting them.
