On the Scene
Cecilia Doo, standing left, and her husband, Dr. Gene Doo, were the guests of honor on a Champagne reception Thursday celebrating the opening of “Qi Baishi: Modern Master,” an exhibition of Chinese art on loan from their personal collection, at the Honolulu Museum of Art. Gene Doo’s mother, Olive Doo, seated, was one of several family members who attended the midmorning event. “Qi Baishi: Modern Master,” featuring the work of “People’s Artist” Qi Baishi (1864-1957), runs through Jan. 25.
