A woman who was found dead in a home in the Fern Acres subdivision in Puna died of a medical condition, police said Tuesday.

Hawaii island police were investigating the death on Monday after the 50-year-old woman was found unresponsive and appeared to have suffered injuries.

An autopsy was conducted at Hilo Medical Center Tuesday and it was determined she died of a medical condition and the injuries were superficial, consistent with falling to the ground, and did not contribute to her cause of death, police said.
