McKinley runners get it done
Two sets of brothers helped McKinley win Saturday’s OIA cross country title.
Senior Vincent Mitsui was seventh, sophomore twins Allan and Johnathan Epstein finished 10th and 12th, and junior Kyle Mitsui placed 18th. Julio Solorzano (34th) rounded out the team’s scoring five and the Tigers finished with a meet-low 81 points.
The team left Central Oahu Regional Park not knowing it won because results weren’t available due to technical difficulties.
McKinley’s last title was in 2001, and the Tigers finished way back in 14th in the meet last year. Kalaheo’s Makai Clemons won the boys race on Saturday in 16:07.85.
