The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Kauai until 10 p.m. Friday.

“At 6:30 p.m., stream gages continued to show above normal flow from heavy rain falling at 1 to 2 inches per hour over parts of the island of Kauai. The area of heavy rain remains nearly stationary,” the advisory said.

The weather service advises the public to stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding, and to not cross fast-flowing or rising water in a vehicle or on foot.
