Toddler in driveway struck by vehicle

A 1-year-old boy was seriously injured Saturday afternoon when he was apparently hit by a vehicle reversing out of a driveway in Kailua.

The incident occurred around 3:43 p.m. at a North Kainalu Drive residence

The boy was transported by paramedics to a local trauma center.

3 injured in collision near Sandy Beach

A 50-year-old man and 46-year-old woman suffered serious injuries when their motorcycle collided with a truck on Kalanianaole Highway near Sandy Beach Friday morning, according to an Emergency Medical Services report.

Paramedics took the man and woman to the hospital in serious condition, along with the driver of the truck, a 62-year-old man, who was in stable condition.

Police closed Kalaniana-ole Highway in both directions following the 9:27 a.m. crash. The highway reopened by about 11:30 a.m.
