Create a polka-dot scarf at CHAI Studio
Make your reservations for CHAI Studio’s April 12 indigo workshop, introducing Japan’s "itajime" technique of indigo polka-dot printing.
"Itajime shibori" is a shape-resist technique used in Japanese tie-dying. Textile artists use shapes cut from acrylic or Plexiglas held in place by clamps to prevent the dye from penetrating the fabric it covers. Workshop attendees will use nontoxic indigo to make polka-dot designs on a white scarf.
The cost is $30 and all materials will be provided. Choose from two sessions, 11 a.m. or 2 p.m. Reserve by calling 536-4543.
